Tea Party Protest Against IRS

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

The Tea Party branch in Billings joined other Tea Partiers across the country Tuesday to protest the extra scrutiny given to conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service, or IRS.

The Federal tax authority has been under criticism recently for scrutinizing groups with words such as "Tea Party" or "Patriots" in their name, as well as groups advocating various conservative causes. People at the protest said they simply want the federal government to treat them fairly.

"The governor always talk about fairness, especially in this current administration, so we'd like them to be fair to the Tea Party." said Eric Olsen.

Steven Miller, the acting IRS Commissioner, has already resigned from his position because of the scandal.
