An emotional crowd welcomed World War II veterans back to Montana Monday night.

Sunday, 84 Montana veterans flew to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorial built in their honor. Vets visited several landmarks from the Lincoln Memorial to Arlington National Cemetery.

Local supporters were at Billings Logan Airport Monday night to welcome home these proud soldiers. Supporter, Colleen Barnard said, "My uncle George Wright from Laurel is coming in, and it's just an emotional thing, and I just wanted to be here for him. I'm just extremely proud of him of what he has done not only for our family, but for our country as well."

The veterans trip was only 36 hours. County Commissioner, Bill Kennedy, said June's Honor Flight is still under budget. Kennedy is hoping donations will be contributed in the coming weeks.
