BILLINGS -

After traveling across the Treasure State, the torch for the 2013 Special Olympics arrived in the Magic City Tuesday.

The torch entered Dehler Park at around 5:20 p.m., and KULR-8 News was there to show the images live on the KULR-8 First News At 5. The torch run began on May 1st, and travelled over two-thousand miles across Montana. According to organizers, Tuesday's run began at Big Timber.

Those who took part in the run said it was a great way to start the Special Olympics.

"We do it for the athletes here, so that's what our main focus is, and it's a fun time. We get the privilege to having the athletes ride with us too, so that's always good. You get to know them on a personal basis." said Yellowstone County Undersheriff Kevin Evans.

According to the Special Olympics website, there will be a short torch run Wednesday, to carry the torch to MetraPark.
