Business Owners Learn about Health Care

BILLINGS -

Everyone has heard of Obamacare, but how it will be implemented is still unclear.

Monday, Avitus Group hosted a seminar in Billings for nearly 150 business owners to answer any questions about the Affordable Care Act. Questions ranged from 'how much penalties would cost if employers didn't offer coverage,' and 'what it would cost for part-time employers.' Billings Pita Pit owner, Kristi Grob, said she believed the challenge will benefit everyone in the long run. "I don't like seeing my young kids who work for me being uninsured because they don't think they need it. My husband and I are self employed, and it has been very hard for us to get insurance. So, I was very happy and trying to remain optimistic that it will remain affordable," Kristi said.

"It is a very complex industry with a lot of parts to it. So, it's exciting, but yes it is very complicated, and I think that it's a long-term proposition, and we will get there over time if we work together," Billings Clinic Payer Relations Director, Rebecca Kelly said.

Kelly said staff members will be prepared for the change. Kelly said the new change will reward and provide the best quality of care for patients. To learn more about the Affordable Care Act click on Connections.
