ZooMontana Gets New Van

Magic City's zoo now has a new way to help share its animals with the community.

ZooMontana Executive Director Jeff Ewelt said during their recent "A Wild Affair" fundraiser dinner at the Northern Hotel, they took pledges to buy a van for the zoo. That fundraiser brought in over $70,000 for the zoo, and the van pledge was recently fulfilled.

Ewelt said after the new van is covered in ZooMontana decals, it will tour the state, as well as taking the zoo's animals to schools and other events.

"Right now, we're using our personal vehicles to take animals to school. Not very easy when you have big crates of animals, but this van will allow us to do just that, get to the schools, and really start getting our reach out into the schools, which is our main focus here."
