Concerned parents of Head Start in Billings, Lockwood, and Laurel are sending a message to Montana politicians.
The children of Head Start put together murals of their hand prints to show the numbers of kids who will be affected by sequester budget cuts in the fall. Parents, including Heydi Powers from Billings, will deliver the murals to Senator Tester, Senator Baucus, and Representative Daines' district offices in Billings.
"It's so our representatives have us, have Head Start in mind. It's just like when you put your hand up you can't miss it. So that's kind of the message. Don't forget about us," says Powers.
Parents want the nation's lawmakers to keep Head Start in mind when focusing on the 2014 budget.
