City Council Tours New Library

Posted: Updated:

City leaders got an up close view of the progress being made on the new Billings Public Library building Monday afternoon.

Members of the City Council had a grand tour of the entire library construction site, and also got an update on the construction progress. City Council members said the new library will play a big role for many Billings residents, especially in the digital age.

"We have many people in this community who aren't able to have their own laptop and iPad, and they'll be able to come here to the Library to do that." said Councilmember Jani McCall, who represents Ward 4.

The new building should be completed by late 2013, according to the city library website. The current library building will be turned into a 100-space parking lot, and the entire project should be done by June 2014.
