BILLINGS - Monday marked the beginning of national volunteer week. And apparently there are plenty of eager volunteers in Billings' School District Two.
Nearly 40 volunteers help out at Burlington Elementary School throughout the school year. They participate in everything from "granny's story time," to helping to coach students in math and reading. Many of these volunteers say it's just about helping out when and where you can.
"It helps the teachers. Sometimes they need that little bit of extra help to fill in. But I think it's also important that you volunteer in your community and give back," said Janae Ruiz, one of the parent volunteers for Burlington School in the Billings West End.
A luncheon to celebrate all of the community volunteers at the Burlington school will be held next month.
