BILLINGS - A young woman injured in a horseback riding accident last September is getting a little help from the community tonight through a benefit dinner and auction.
20 year old Kelsey Lyle was badly injured after she was thrown off her horse and sustained brain injuries. She and her family have racked up the medical bills and Kelsey has been unable to work since the accident. 500 attendees were expected to attend Friday's event and chip in to help out Kelsey and her family.
Kelsey's mother, Annette Lyles, said she is amazed by the outpouring of support from the Billings community ever since the accident.
"It's so overwhelming to her how well the community has been donating and supporting her all along and helping along her journey. Everyone has been awesome with helping her with everything," she said.
The benefit dinner and auction took place at 6 PM at The Shrine. A wide variety of donated gift baskets and other items from local businesses were up for auction to help contribute funds to the family.
