BILLINGS - Fourteen varsity basketball players at Senior High School have been suspended over an alleged hazing incident.

School District Two Superintendent Jack Copps says the players allegedly put a dog shock collar on one of the boys.

The suspension occurs on the night of Senior's biggest game of the season against West High School. The suspension will also include the game Friday against Hardin.

definition of hazing; force, humiliate, bully. I would be pleased to have the news stations televise the newest video shown to sd2 this morning. There was none of the above! Merely a group of boys bonding at a team dinner. The so called "victim" came out of the pile of boys with the bark collar (not shock collar) in his hand. He was laughing and grabbed a kid by the leg off the couch and placed it on his leg. For all of you who condemned this good group of boys before knowing the whole story "shame on you". I believe the school mistreated these boys (somewhat like a witch hunt)without a full investigation. They were judged and shunned before anyone knew the full story. They were suspended from playing what was one of the biggest last games for some of the seniors for no just cause. It is amazing that we live in a society where so many uninformed people throw stones. All the kids and parents involved deserve apologies from many and I hope they get them.

This type of behavior is rampant in high school sports and is usually covered up or dealt with with a mere slap on the wrist. The only good thing to come out of it is that the disctrict did take some action. However, I feel it was hardly severe enough. IMO, the players should have been suspended for the rest of the season.

I was glad to see that the basketball game was played tonight. There as to be consiquinces for actions or nothing will be learned. If they were to reschedule the game, why bother suspending the players? Kudos to the hire up on the totem pole to play the game.
