UGF hires Brian Clarke as women's soccer coach

By The Associated Press

GREAT FALLS - The University of Great Falls has named Brian Clarke the new women's soccer coach.

Clarke coached the University of Mary men's soccer team to a 4-13-1 record during a rebuilding season in 2007, after serving as an assistant in 2006. He replaces Jamie Rizzuto, who resigned in December.

Clarke is a native of Newcastle, Wyoming, and played soccer at the University of Mary, where he was a captain as a senior. UGF athletics director Jim Hall said Monday that Clarke is a mature and talented young coach with a good record as a recruiter.

Clarke says he sees great potential for success at UGF, and says he has already begun searching for an assistant.
