Northern names Tyson Thivierge new wrestling coach

By The Associated Press

HAVRE - Montana State-Northern has hired former Lights wrestler Tyson Thivierge as the school's new wrestling coach.

Thivierge was a four-time All-American wrestler at Northern, finishing in the top three at NAIA national championships between 1999 and 2002. He won the national title as a senior. He graduated from Northern with a physical education degree and is the head wrestling coach at Carson City High in Nevada.

Northern athletics director Mark Samson says Thivierge will start his coaching duties immediately. Thivierge takes over for Dan Troupe, whose contract wasn't renewed after three seasons.
