Loyola girls' basketball coach resigns

By The Associated Press

MISSOULA - Cara Cocchiarella is resigning as Missoula Loyola girls' basketball coach after six seasons. She will receive her master's degree from the University of Montana in May and says she wants to pursue coaching at the collegiate level.

Cocchiarella's teams won 20 or more games in five of her six seasons, including a 53-game winning streak between 2005 and 2007. The Breakers went 26-0 in winning the state Class B championship in 2006.

Cocchiarella is finishing up her fourth season as the girls' head track coach.
