Griz sign Salt Lake CC wing to men's basketball team

MISSOULA - Montana men's basketball coach Wayne Tinkle has announced the signing of 6-foot-3 wing Vassy Banny, a transfer from Salt Lake Community College.

Banny is a native of Abidjan, Ivory Coast on the west coast of Africa. Banny averaged about ten points and five rebounds per game last season at Salt Lake CC, which posted a 32-4 record and advanced to the championship game of the national junior college tournament.

Tinkle says Banny is a big, physical presence and that his personality will add a lot to the team's chemistry. Tinkle says Banny is the final recruit the Griz will sign in the spring signing period.
