MIAMI (AP) — Miami Heat guard Dwyane (dwayn) Wade is in the lineup for tonight's game against the New York Knicks, who will play without Carmelo Anthony because of thumb, wrist and ankle problems. Wade sprained his right ankle in Denver two weeks ago and returned to on-court conditioning several days ago. The Heat are 8-1 without Wade this season.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Hunter Pence couldn't wait for an arbitrator's decision on his salary for this year, accepting a one-year, $10.4 million contract. Pence had asked for $11.8 million in arbitration while the Phillies countered with a $9 million offer. He hit .314 with 22 homers and a career-high 97 RBIs for Houston and the Phillies last season.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — College of Charleston men's basketball coach Bobby Cremins has taken an indefinite leave of absence for a medical condition that will keep him off the sidelines the rest of the season. The school did not specify Cremins' conditions or put a time frame on his return, although athletic director Joe Hull did say Cremins' condition was not life threatening. Assistant coach Mark Byington takes over a team that has dropped six of eight since a 10-2 start.

LA QUINTA, Calif. (AP) — Kyle Stanley is the leader at the midway point of the PGA's Farmers Insurance Open in California. Stanley overcame a double-bogey in shooting a 4-under-par 68 today for a 14-under total, leaving him one shot ahead of Brandt Snedeker. Sang-Moon Bae and Martin Flores are two strokes back and two ahead of Bill Haas and Hunter Mahan.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Goalkeeper Hope Solo is in the U.S. lineup for today's Olympic qualifier against Costa Rica. Solo aggravated a slightly pulled quadriceps in her right leg on Tuesday and underwent acupuncture and other treatments to get ready for the game. The winner earns one of two berths from the CONCACAF (KAHN'-kah-kaf) region for the Summer Games in London.
