5 Frontier schools in action Saturday

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Five of the six Frontier Conference football teams are in action Saturday.

Third-ranked Carroll College opens its 2010 season with a home game against Rocky Mountain, which is coming off a 25-21 loss to No. 15 Dickinson State. Montana Tech hosts No. 21 Eastern Oregon while Montana Western moves up to play Idaho State of the Big Sky Conference.

Rocky Mountain quarterback Mark Desin of Billings, Montana State-Northern defensive back Casey Varner of Baker and Montana Tech outside linebcker Ty Sandru of Twin Bridges were named the league's players of the week for last week's games.
