GREEN RIVER, Wyo. (AP) — The Green River Valley Land Trust is going statewide and changing its name to the Wyoming Land Trust.

The land trust is aimed at helping more Wyoming landowners stay on their property through the use of conservation easements.

Trust officials said the group will bring loads of expertise and conservation easement project success to the new endeavor.

The Green River Valley Land Trust became the first accredited land trust in Wyoming in 2009 and among the first in the nation.

They said the new trust will help more ranching families statewide hold their land and significantly strengthen landowners' ability to keep wildlife, scenic viewsheds and open spaces available for future generations.
