GILLETTE, WYOMING - All Campbell County elected officials except county commissioners will make $100,000 a year starting in 2011.

The county assessor, clerk, clerk of district court, coroner, sheriff and treasurer now earn $75,000 a year. The county attorney is paid $85,000. The Campbell County Commission this week approved the request of the elected officials for a 15 percent salary increase for the county attorney and 25% increase for the other officials.

The raise will put each elected official at the maximum salary allowed by the state. The elected officials said their salaries are below that of some city and county employees with similar responsibilities and lower than some of their own staff. The commissioners denied themselves a raise. They make $37,500 a year.
