CASPER, WYOMING - Officials with the Department of Reclamation will start filling Alcova Reservoir on April 2.

The work will have the lake rising at about 5 inches a day until it increases by about 10 feet total.

The fill allows for increased recreational use during the spring and summer and stores water for use by farms and ranchers using the Casper-Alcova irrigation canal.
