Wyoming Supreme Court elects Kite chief justice

CHEYENNE, WYOMING - Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Marilyn S. Kite will serve as the state's first female chief justice.

The state supreme court justices recently elected the 62-year-old Kite to take over as chief justice once current Chief Justice Barton R. Voigt's term expires July 1.

Kite is a native of Laramie and has served on the state's highest court since 2000. She worked in private practice in Jackson before joining the court. Kite is a graduate of UW and the UW law school. She and her husband Roy "Skip" Jacobson, Jr., have one son.
