CASPER, WYOMING - Prosecutors have charged a Casper man with arson and say he set fire to his own home in an attempt to collect insurance money.

In an affidavit filed in the court case, police say 36-year-old Thomas Howard Devine twice used a flammable liquid to set fire to the second floor of his home in January. He is charged with two counts of first-degree arson and two counts of second-degree arson.

If convicted, he faces up to 60 years in prison.

Police say Devine had not been living in the home because of damage from a previous fire in 2008. They say that fire was caused by the improper installation of a wood stove.
