CASPER, WYOMING - A federal judge has declined to dismiss an indictment against a man charged in connection with the heroin overdose death of a Wyoming bull rider.

Christopher Tyson's defense attorney Dion Custis had asked that the charges against Tyson be dropped, saying his client had no way of knowing that the heroin he'd bought would be given to Bryan Guthrie by two other men. Guthrie died Dec. 2 after using the heroin.

But U.S. District Judge Alan Johnson declined to toss out the case against Tyson, saying the case could move forward.
