CHEYENNE, WYOMING - Officials say Cheyenne residents are back home after a break in the natural gas main line forced an evacuation.

Officials say the gas main broke Monday afternoon after some crews doing road work dug into the marked line. As a precaution, emergency workers evacuated seven homes in the neighborhood and blocked off the road.

Workers were able to temporarily plug the hole and residents were allowed home that evening.

Officials say workers will install a permanent repair on Tuesday.
