GREEN RIVER, WYOMING - Wyoming officials say plans to build 30 or more underpasses for wildlife in deer, elk and antelope migration corridors is on hold after the state's application for $100 million in federal economic stimulus money was denied.

Last fall, the Wyoming Department of Transportation applied for four grant applications totaling $230 million for federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery money.

Department spokeswoman Theresa Herbin says three of the grants were denied last week, including the underpass project. State officials say that without the stimulus money they can't afford the underpass projects at this time.
