CHEYENNE, WYOMING - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says it's looking for information about a Canada goose killed with a crossbow at a park in Cheyenne.

The goose was shot at Holliday Park and found dead on pond ice. A large, unidentifiable bird also was found dead on the ice and a goose shot in the leg has eluded capture.

Authorities believe the birds were shot sometime over the weekend of Feb. 27-28. They say the perpetrator potentially committed a number of violations including taking Canada geese out of season and without a license, hunting after hours, using a weapon not approved for waterfowl and waste of migratory waterfowl.

Anyone with information can call the Stop Poaching Hotline at (877) WGFD-TIP or (877) 943-3847.
