Web site lists Cheyenne among top retirement towns

CHEYENNE, WYOMING - A retirement planning Web site has listed Cheyenne among the nation's 100 most popular places to retire.

Cheyenne ranked number 84 on the list by TopRetirements.com. The Web site calculates the rankings based on the community reviews that get the most online interest. Nearly 70 percent of the list is made up of warm-climate destinations.

Joanne Bowlby with AARP Wyoming says she's not surprised by the interest in Cheyenne. She says retirees often search for towns similar to the one they grew up in, and they also want low crime rates, accessible medical care and attractions.
