JACKSON, WYOMING - Workers at Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park are starting up the snowplows to prepare roads for spring travel.

Grand Teton spokeswoman Jackie Skaggs says the plowing will allow visitors to walk and bicycle before Teton Park Road opens to automobiles in early April. She says the snowpack is thin this year, so plowing won't take long and the road should be open toward the end of March.

Yellowstone National Park crews began plowing the road from Mammoth Hot Springs to Norris Junction on Monday. The road was closed to snowmobiles and snow coaches on Sunday night.
