National Air Guard grounds annual air show

CHEYENNE, WYOMING - The Wyoming Air National Guard won't host its annual air show this July, because of deployments, construction at the airfield and other issues.

But the performance of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will go on as planned on July 28. Both shows usually run during Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Wyoming National Guard Col. Dennis Grunstad says it was a tough decision but the Guard wasn't able to provide a top-notch air show this year, and didn't want to lower the bar.
