SHERIDAN, WYOMING - Sheridan has received more than 90 applications for its chief of police job.

Sheridan Human Resources Director Heather Doke said the city accepted applications through Monday.

Doke said she expects it will to take "one or two weeks" to review the applications.

Following initial interviews, the city will invite no more than eight candidates to Sheridan for onsite interviews and assessments.

The job opened up when former Police Chief Mike Card took a similar position in California.

The initial search process resulted in six candidates visiting Sheridan, but none taking the job. The job search was then reopened.
