No liquor license for Wyoming ski area

POWELL, WYOMING - Park County Commissioners have turned down a request for a liquor license from Sleeping Giant Ski Area managers, saying they were concerned about drunken driving and selling alcohol in a family friendly environment.

Sleeping Giant Ski Area Executive Director Ham Bryan says the decision is a mistake that will hurt the slope's business.

Commissioner Jill Shockley Siggins says the ski area had been pitched to the public as a family ski area, and that makes alcohol sales inappropriate.

Deputy County Clerk Wardi Reber said the ski area should be granted a license, and that she can't remember ever going to a ski area that doesn't offer beer or wine.

Well than; with that logic, attending Catholic mass and receiving the sacrament of wine is not a family orientated atmosphere. Next week tens of thousands of families will be celebrating Thanksgiving and toasting their good fortune with alcohol, apparently not a family event either. To consume or not consume alcohol is a choice. It's not a crime Yet; Miss Siggins.
