CHEYENNE, WYOMING - Wyoming Sens. Mike Enzi and John Barrasso are joining their fellow Republicans in blasting health care reform legislation introduced by Senate Democrats.

Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced the bill Wednesday and has scheduled an initial test vote for Saturday evening. Enzi says the bill would increase health care costs for most families, increase taxes on workers and small businesses, and cut Medicare benefits for seniors.

Barrasso echoes those concerns and says the bill will still mean higher premiums. Democratic supporters say the bill expands coverage, ends controversial insurance industry practices and restrains the growth of health care spending.

Democrats say the bill will cost $979 billion, while Republicans calculate it to more like $1.5 trillion over a decade.
