LANDER, WYOMING - Wyoming motorists need to be especially alert for wildlife crossing the state's roadways this time of year.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says that game animals get more active with winter approaching because it's time for mating seasons and migrations to winter ranges. Many roadways cross traditional migration routes.

The recent time change also means that many motorists are driving home from at dusk when many animals are most active.

Robin Kepple is information specialist with the Game and Fish Department. She says that the only way for motorists to avoid expensive and possibly dangerous collisions is to slow down and watch for wildlife.
