GILLETTE, WYOMING - Gillette city officials are hoping to get a grant from the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust to defray the estimated $4 million cost of repairing and upgrading a local park and fishing lake.

Gillette Civil Engineer Levi Jensen presented the plans for Fishing Lake at Dalbey Memorial Park to Wildlife Trust board representative Gwyn McKee on Friday. The trust was created by Wyoming lawmakers in 2005 to help cover the costs of improving wildlife habitat and natural resources.

The Fishing Lake collects the water from a 27,000-acre area, along with sediment and pollution from Gillette. The overhaul project is part of the city's plan to fix the local storm water infrastructure.
