CASPER, WYOMING - Natrona County search and rescue officials have suspended their search for a missing elk hunter in the southern Big Horn Mountains because of inclement weather.

Sgt. Mark Sellers of the county sheriff's office told the Casper Star-Tribune on Tuesday that the search for Travis McMahan may resume in the coming days when weather permits.

Crews have been working since Sunday to find the 39-year-old McMahan. The Casper man was last seen Saturday night by fellow hunters in the Buffalo Creek Campground area, about 35 miles north of Waltman.

Ground crews searched the area Sunday and Monday. Police also called in two helicopters to aid in the search Monday.
