RIVERTON, WYOMING - Riverton police are investigating thefts from area churches over the last couple of weeks.

Authorities say money was stolen out of two lady's purses two weeks ago during Sunday worship at a Methodist church. One of the bags was left on top of the kitchen refrigerator and the other on a desk in a classroom.

Then last weekend, someone walked into the office of Trinity Lutheran Church and took bags of money out of an unlocked safe. And there was another report of cars being ransacked in a Mormon church parking lot.
