Jackson mayor's son dies in climbing accident

JACKSON, WYOMING - The son of the mayor of Jackson has died in an apparent climbing accident.

The Jackson Hole News & Guide is reporting that 26-year-old Wesley Barron was found dead at the base of a cliff at around 11 a.m. Wednesday. Barron is the son of Jackson Mayor Mark Barron. Friends notified Wesley Barron's family when he failed to return from a climbing trip on Tuesday evening and didn't show up for work on Wednesday.

A search located the younger Barron's car in a parking area in Curtis Canyon. Teton County Search and Rescue workers found that he had died after falling from a cliff in a solo free climb.
