Cody airport gets TSA scanner OK

CODY, WYOMING - A plan to put a high-tech baggage screening device in the new Yellowstone Regional Airport terminal in Cody has been scrapped.

The Transportation Security Agency had recommended a screening machine that would scan both carryon and check-in luggage simultaneously. But federal officials now say the technology is not available for small airports like the one in Cody.

Installing the new machine would have required the Yellowstone Regional Airport Joint Powers Board and the designers to alter the terminal's design to accommodate it.
