CHEYENNE, WYOMING - Twenty-one Wyoming Army National Guard soldiers and three UH-60 helicopters will leave this week for deployment to Afghanistan.

The deployment ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Cheyenne.

The mobilization order for C Company, 5th Battalion, 159th General Support Aviation Brigade is for a 12-month deployment. That includes two months of predeployment training at Fort Sill, Okla., and 10 months in Afghanistan.

The Wyoming-based soldiers will deploy with other medical evacuation units from California and Nevada.

Current plans are to rotate soldiers and aircraft from C Company to Afghanistan annually for the next three years. The soldiers include pilots, crew chiefs, medics and maintenance personnel. They are from Cheyenne, Laramie, and Burns as well as from Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri.
