RAWLINS, WYOMING - The city of Rawlins is moving forward with plans to replace a leaky reservoir.

The Rawlins City Council voted recently to request $1.35 million from the state Water Development Commission to design a replacement, which would be located south of town. If approved, 67% of the money would come in the form of a grant, with the rest loaned to the city.

Rawlins officials say the goal of the project is to provide water stability over the next 50 years for the town. They say the Atlantic Rim Reservoir has been leaking for years.
