CHEYENNE, WYOMING - Wyoming Infrastructure Authority Executive Director Steve Waddington has announced that he will resign effective Oct. 31.

Waddington is the first director of the authority, which was created by the Legislature in 2004 to improve Wyoming's electrical transmission infrastructure.

Authority chairman Michael Easley, who heads the five-member board appointed by the governor to oversee the authority, says Waddington has provided strong leadership in building the authority's staff and partnerships.

Waddington says he's leaving the authority having recently completed two major projects. Those are the recruitment of two developers to buy transmission capacity on the Wyoming-Colorado Intertie, a new power line to be built in eastern Wyoming, and the transfer of the TransWest Express Project powerline project to the Anschutz Corp.
