Forest Service closes 2 campgrounds near Big Piney

BIG PINEY, WYOMING - The Bridger-Teton National Forest has closed two campgrounds near Big Piney because of flooding issues on access roads.

Greg Clark is ranger on the Big Piney district. He says the Sacajawea and Middle Piney Lake campgrounds are both closed. Clark says the road flooded about 300 feet below the Middle Piney dam. He says vehicles now can't make it to the lake. The Sacajawea Campground is closed because a culvert below the entrance to the campground is plugged with debris. Clark says that raises the risk that the road could wash out.
