Wyoming photographer wins book award

JACKSON, WYOMING - A Jackson photographer's latest book has been named a recipient of an Independent Book Publishers Association 2008 Benjamin Franklin Award.

The book by Thomas Mangelsen took top honors in the Coffee Table/Large Format category. The book is titled The Natural World. The Benjamin Franklin Awards recognize excellence in independent publishing.

Books are judged on editorial and design merit by top practitioners in each field. The Natural World chronicles ten distinct ecosystems. Mangelsen took the photographs, wrote the book and published it himself.
