By The Associated Press

CODY, WYOMING - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department plans to place radio transmitting collars on up to 11 elk from the Jackson Elk Herd this summer to track their migration movements.

The elk spend the summer in Yellowstone National Park and winter on the National Elk Refuge near Jackson. The elk migrate through the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Grand Teton National Park lands.

The study will focus on the movement of the elk during hunting season to see how the migration coincides with fall hunting seasons.
