LARAMIE, WYOMING - Laramie is cleaning up after an apparent tornado swept through parts of the city on Thursday afternoon. The storm knocked out power for much of the city and damaged some buildings but there are no reports of any injuries.

Commander Dale Stalder is spokesman for the Laramie Police Department. He says the storm took the roofs off a couple of buildings around town, tore the siding from some homes and knocked down fences.

The National Weather Service says it believes a tornado was involved because of the nature of the damage in Laramie. But the agency says it will need to inspect the scene to make a final determination.

Stalder says that Laramie was very lucky compared to the devastation that a tornado caused Thursday in the northern Colorado town of Windsor. Dozens of homes were destroyed there and one man was killed.
