RIVERTON, WYOMING - The new Las Vegas-style casino on the Wind River Indian Reservation is drawing a lot of attention. The casino is just south of Riverton on Wyoming 789. It held a "soft opening" last week with about 200 of the planned roughly 750 gaming machines in operation.

People who visited say they are impressed, noting its size is comparable to casinos in Las Vegas. Building architect Charles Schiffner says the design is meant to respect the heritage of the Northern Arapaho Tribe. Much work remains before the official grand-opening celebration kicks off during the first two weeks of June.

Workers continue to install banks of gaming machines throughout the casino and card tables.
