WASHINGTON - Wyoming's senior senator is encouraging state residents to comment on a proposal that would allow people to carry concealed weapons in some national parks and wildlife areas.

Republican Sen. Mike Enzi says people with valid concealed weapons permits shouldn't be stuck with confusing laws about when they can and can't carry guns.

Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne this week proposed regulations that would allow people with concealed carry permits to carry a concealed weapon in some national parks and wildlife refuges. The public has 60 days to comment on the proposal.
