CODY, WYOMING - A Cody radio station has won the station of the year award for the entire state of Wyoming. KODI radio made the most story contributions to the Associated Press last year.

KODI is a Cody AM station, and part of the Big Horn Basin Radio Network.

News Director Wendy Corr Dingman told KULR-8 says the Associated Press is very interested in the stories she sends from Northwest Wyoming, partly because Yellowstone National Park is in Park County, Wyoming. The AP's bureau chief for the Rocky Mountain region, Jim Clark, says KODI's record of sharing news quickly is an example of the of the best tradition of the AP.

Big Horn Radio News Director Wendy Corr said, "It's a thrilling thing for me to go online when I'm looking for news from around this area when it's got my byline on it, or something that I wrote, and somebody else is covering it. Somebody else is taking that bit of news that I had gathered, that bit of news that I had put together, and they're using it to tell their listeners, to tell their viewers."

Dingman contributed 45 stories to the Associated Press last year.
