Work on Hobo Pool could begin this month

RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — A project to renovate Saratoga's hot springs pool could begin as early as this month.

The Rawlins Times says project architect Rick Morton wants construction to start as soon as possible but no exact date has been set yet.

Morton met residents Tuesday to discuss the work, answering questions about topics including safety, lighting and landscaping.

The pool is known as the Hobo Pool because train-hopping hobos used it as a free bath.

A new bathhouse will be built along with a pool that's not as hot as the main hot pool.

Saratoga received a $283,000 state grant for the project and a federal grant of about $273,000 to bring the facility in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
