LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — An Albany County man has been confirmed as the second human to be infected with West Nile virus in Wyoming this year.

The Wyoming Department of Health reported an Albany County man is infected with West Nile virus based on laboratory results that came in from a local health care provider last Friday.

Health Department spokeswoman Kim Deti says she can't release much information about the man, but she said lab results show he has developed the most serious form of West Nile virus.

The other confirmed human case of West Nile virus this year is in Goshen County.

Deti says there are two additional human cases that the Health Department is checking on.
