Dove, blue grouse seasons start Sept. 1

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department reminds hunters that September first is the opening day for hunting mourning doves as well as blue- and ruffled grouse and small game.

The daily limit for doves is 15 birds and the possession limit is 30.

The season for blue and ruffed grouse starts Sept. 1 and runs through Nov. 30. The limit of blue and ruffed grouse in combination is three daily and nine in possession.

Warren Mischke is Sheridan regional information and education specialist with the game department. He says hunting upland birds and small game is a good way to introduce children to hunting.
